“I was ten years old and already convinced I was the dumb kid. Dyslexia meant words danced on the page, I wrote sentences backwards, and my spelling was a mess. My grades said what everyone else seemed to think. F after F after F.
Then someone put me in front of a computer. This was the late 80s, and something clicked immediately. DOS made sense. Windows 3.1 made sense. By ten, I was writing computer programs and knew more than my teachers did. When I started using a word processor for schoolwork, the F's flipped to A's. Same brain. Same kid. Different tools.
That contrast has shaped everything I've done since. The ones who are underestimated are often the ones who'd lead, if they were understood. Not fixed. Not fitted in. Understood.
